Returning HLL Members

Please make sure you use the same email address for registration that you used last year to avoid duplicate accounts for your family and that your player's history remains in tact.  If you no longer have access to your old email address, please contact the information officer.    This will create an entirely new duplicate account and you'll lose access to all of your family history.

Once you've completed these steps, you are no longer a new HLL member.  You may then use the "Edit My Account" located at the bottom of the menu on the left side of the page to edit your family account -- adding additional players, etc...

PARENT REQUESTS

Parents often like to make special requests such as having a player place on a specific team for carpooling or to play with friends or sometimes preference for a specific coach.  These requests will likely not be granted.  It is very difficult if not impossible to take in the hundreds of requests we get and to build teams and a schedule that accommodates everyone's wishes.

Having siblings placed on the same team, providing both are of LL age and capabilities of playing at the same division level, is the only request that will likely be granted.

COACHING

Coaches must fill out the volunteer application form and go through a background check.  Each team is allowed one head coach and one official assistant coach for all divisions. Coaches will be required to attend a coaches meeting usually held in March.

Coaches often like to request to coach with a friend as so forth.  These requests we usually granted as our coaches are volunteers.  There is a place on the coaching application form for coaches to put in their specific requests.  If you put your request in the proper place, it will be see by those board members responsible for the team building, coaching lists, scheduling process.  Please do not email the information officer with your request as it will go in the trash folder never to be seen.

EQUIPMENT

Coaches are issued a base set of equipment appropriate for their division.  This includes some basic batting helmets, bats, catchers gear and balls.    At a minimum, your player will need a baseball/softball glove appropriate for their size.

At the major level and higher (baseball/softball) most players provide their own helmet, glove, bat, batting gloves, face shield, sliding pads/shorts, sun glasses, bag, etc...  At the majors level and higher, please make sure your equipment is Little League approved.  In tournament play, the umpires will usually inspect equipment.

UNIFORMS

Uniforms are distributed in April just before the regular season begins.  All players will receive shirts, pants (belt if appropriate) and socks.  All baseball divisions will also receive a matching hat, softball divisions A and below will also receive visors.

PLAYER EVALUATIONS

Baseball Evaluations

*** All players in Division A and up must attend evaluations. ***

HLL attempts to create equally balanced teams based on evalutions, therefore it is extremely important that all players attend evaluations

There is an opportunity for players entering their last year of their respective division (as allowed by Little League age) to attend Evaluations and possibly play up at the next division level.  For example, a player from the Rookie division (4,5 & 6 year olds) who is Little League age 6, could sign up for and attend Evaluations to see if they could possibly play up at the A division level.

SCHEDULES/TEAM BUILDING

Teams cannot be assembled until we have our coaches registered, background checks completed, players registered, player Evaluations completed, and for some divisions the player draft completed. Since player Evaluations do not complete until sometime in early to mid February, it stands to reason that team information will not be available until sometime in mid March.  Furthermore, it stands to reason that the practice and game schedules cannot be created until sometime after the teams have been assembled and the coaches meeting has taken place.  Hence, the practice schedule becomes available sometime between the coaches meeting and the first practice (early April).  The game schedule comes out sometime after the practice schedule but before uniform pickup (mid April).

PRACTICE SEASON

Practices usually start in late March and run up until Opening Day (April 21, 2017).  Teams will get 2 scheduled practices per week during this time, weather permitting.  Practices typically start around 5:00pm during the work week for most divisions. Practices will also be scheduled on the weekend (Saturday) from 9:00am - 6:00pm.  Some coaches will hold additional practices at their discretion.

REGULAR SEASON

Regular season begins April 21, 2017 and runs through mid June depending upon the division.  Younger division (Rookie and A) teams usually play two games per week (one M-Th, and one Fri/Sat), and older divisions may have up to 4 in a week.  We try to schedule make-up games if necessary.  We try to schedule certain divisions such that it minimizes conflicts with travel baseball/softball.  Games typically start around 5:15pm, 6:00pm or 7:15pm during the work week depending on the division. Games on Saturday run from 9:00am – 7:30pm.
PLAYOFFS

Certain divisions will hold playoffs at the end of the regular season. The schedule for these games come out at the last minute, so there is typically very little warning.

POST SEASON/ALLSTARS

Allstar teams are formed for certain divisions based on try-outs.  Rules are strictly enforced during tournament play -- ages, boundaries, Little League approved equipment, etc…  Allstars can play many games per week depending upon the dynamics of the participating leagues.  Scheduling information comes out at the last minute so it is often difficult for parents to plan.  Allstar games usually begin in early July and can run all the way through the end of August depending how far a team goes.

REGISTRATION FORMS

Please pay attention to the age ranges of the registration forms and to the late date, closing date, and other special instructions on the form.  Please visit our registration page for the online sign-up forms.

 Teams Tab
This is where you′ll be able to view the schedule, roster, and bulletins for your specific team. Use the drop down menus at the top to find your team. First use the "League" drop down menu to select the level your team plays at: Teeball, Major Softball, etc. Next use the "Team" drop down to choose the team you wish to see.

The left-edge menu options for the Team tab give you a variety of ways to look at your team's schedule.

  • If you click on "Schedule" it will list each practice and game, in a day-by-day tabular fashion. Make sure that you click "Show Non-Games" and the schedule will include all practices as well. (Note that not all managers will load their practices onto the scheduler.)
  • Click "Calendar" if you would rather view the schedule in a calendar form. The "Results" option shows results for games that have already occurred, but only if your division keeps score and the results have been entered.
  • The "Multi-Schedule" feature allows you to see the schedule for several teams at one time. You can also download these in several formats to import into your calendar programs.

The team roster can also be found on this page. Note that for safety purposes, this information is password protected. You can access protected areas by logging in with your email address and personal password. Key contacts are also listed so you are able to contact your coach via phone or email. RSS feeds are also available for those parents using that feature.
